About
About
I’m Roberto Simoni, an Engineering Manager with a background in backend development, cloud infrastructure and distributed systems.
I have worked as both a software engineer and an engineering leader, mainly in environments shaped by legacy systems, regulation, distributed teams, limited resources and demanding delivery expectations.
Why this blog exists
Sixro on Software is where I examine Software Engineering Management, leadership and systems thinking through practical experience.
Books and management frameworks often provide useful ideas, but applying them inside a real organisation is rarely straightforward. Context, incentives, organisational structures and existing systems tend to interfere with clean theoretical models.
I usually start with something I have seen at work: a decision that did not make sense, a practice that worked only on paper, or an idea from a book that became useful only when I tried to apply it. I write to understand what happened, not to produce another list of management best practices.
Topics
I mainly write about:
Software Engineering Management;
technical and people leadership;
organisational effectiveness;
systems thinking;
software delivery and team practices;
lessons from books applied to engineering organisations.
